Get to Know Lori Otter

Lori Otter is a familiar name in Idaho. As the former First Lady of the Gem State from 2007 to 2019... If you are looking to buy or sell, nobody knows the State of Idaho like Lori.

Growing up in the rural community of Kimberly, Idaho, Lori attended Idaho schools for her undergrad and graduate studies. In 1991, she won the Miss Idaho USA title and went on to represent Idaho in the Miss USA pageant.

After graduation, she taught English, Health, and Physical education for K-12 in Idaho’s public education system, with a competitive passion for coaching junior high and high school girls’ basketball and volleyball for 13 years in the Meridian School District and coaching three State Champion teams at Centennial High School.

When her husband, Governor Butch Otter retired, Lori’s tenure as First Lady ended, but
she continued to pursue public service. Today, she actively participates in nonprofit capacities throughout Idaho, including projects with Miss Rodeo Idaho, Boise Chamber of Commerce, Ada County Meridian Boys and Girls Club, Zions Bank Executive Economic Board, and St. Alphonsus Foundation Board. Currently, she is now serving as Chief Executive Director of Idaho Women in Leadership. In other words, Lori remains committed to serving the communities of Idaho.

Real estate is where Lori has found her success across the state in her third career. In her first year in the industry, she ranked in the top 14% of U.S, agents and earned placement in the Honor Society at Berkshire Hathaway. In her second year, she received her Certified Luxury Marketing Home Specialist designation and was on the Honor Roll again. She approaches real estate and serves her clients with the same commitment and purpose she displayed as First Lady, helping Idahoans achieve their real estate goals and dreams.

Beyond her real estate experience, educational pursuits, and volunteer efforts, Lori has also co- written five children’s books about Idaho History and the State Capital. When she is not with her clients, she enjoys riding horses and team roping with her husband at their ranch in Star.

She also competes in Mountain Trail Horse Challenges, where she won Rookie rider on her horse Rock her first year. When and if she finds a free moment, you might find her on the tennis court or at her easel, painting Idaho in award-winning watercolors and multimedia acrylic.
